Inspired by the parallels of Latin America and Bangkok, BKK Social Club, in the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River, is helmed by industry veteran and Berlin native Philip Bischoff, previously of Manhattan in Singapore.

The focus at this destination-meets-hotel dram den is on glitz, glamour and good times, set in garden-like surrounds in which plants tumble from chandeliers and semi-outdoor courtyards provide a space to enjoy a cigar. The bar’s emphasis on conviviality is clear from the moment you walk in the door, and the engaging hospitality is equally fantástico

The menu draws inspiration from Argentina, employing Argentinian craft spirits – like premium gin brand Principe de los Apostoles – to represent the notable places, people, and celebrations from Buenos Aires and its vibrant bar scene of the 1970s and 80s. Reflecting its 1920s Art Nouvelle Buenos Aires décor, the drinks use ingredients – such as yerba mate, apple guava (try the Jardin), and mint cola – and are inspired by personalities like Maradona, of soccer’s Hand of God fame, or the first lady of Argentina herself, Evita

The soon-to-launch menu will expand further afield to Mexico as Mexican fare aligns with that of Thai cuisine – spicy, sour, fresh, and rich. Bischoff aims to bridge these similarities while simultaneously introducing the Bangkok drinking crowd to agave-based spirits. The libation lineup – made up of primarily proprietary infusions and macerations – also has a dedicated bottled section and a hefty collection of champagne, elevating bottle service beyond just spirits and mixers – one of the many reasons BKK Social Club earned the 2022 Art of Hospitality Award and scored the prestigious spot as Asia’s Best Bar on the World’s 50 Best List 2023.
